Poker update - August 2012

In positions 6, 7 and 8 are Chris Cormack, me, and Dominic Cross, all with 600 + points and averages between 35 and 50. Then, in 5th place is Steve Symonds who has 650 points despite having only played 6 games, with 2 wins and a massive average of just over 108, (although this averages don't officially count unless you enter more than 50% of the tournaments in any given season).

With the top average that does currently count is 4th placed Michael Stoner with a 72 average and a total of 936, which is within a win of the top spot. Darren Shone finished 2nd last week and is now in 3rd place, thanks partly to being the only player to have entered all 18 tourneys. His average is just over 55, the lowest in the top 5.

Back to back wins have helped Phil Bradley into 2nd place with an average of 64 after having played 16 games. Phil has 1024 points, 74 behind Simon King who has played 1 more game than Phil and has practically the same average.

So, unlike at the White horse where all of the top 8 players have a live chance of catching the leader within a few games, the Black Bull league seems to be dominated by the top 4 placed players, for now anyway...

Instead of an etiquette reminder, this week I'd like to highlight the imminent formal formation of Cambridge Pub Poker as an unincorporated association, which should allow us to open a bank account by becoming and formal association.

If you log-in to the website you should now find links to a draft constitution and an agenda for an inaugural meeting. Like most paperwork and admin, it's not likely to be very exciting, but if you'd like to be on the committee please let me know. Most meetings will probably happen 30 minutes before registration opens on a tournament Tuesday or Thursday. Otherwise, look out for a new membership form when registering in a few weeks.

And finally…
A set of 'Dice' design chips were used for a home game a few months ago and are still out there somewhere. Can all members who have ever hosted a home game check to see if you have them please?

Thanks,

Mat.
