The End is Nigh
Having led the league-table since the very first game, Joe was finally pushed into second place after finishing 6th last week.
Clive, who was just a single point behind the lead at the beginning of last week's game, finished first last Tuesday and now has a 94 point lead. The only other contender for the title is myself, but realistically I needed a win rather than second place last week to be in with a serious chance, unless the other crash out early.
Meanwhile, at the black bull, they thought it was all over. The end dates for the leagues season at the black bull were recorded as the same as the white horse and it was assumed that meant that last Thursday was the last game. However, this was a minor clerical error on my part and I have since confirmed that the final game is in fact this Thursday. Does this mean that Daz could challenge Phil for the title after all? A check of the stats is required and my phone signal isn't helping...

There are a few changes on the cards for next season. The first is designed to address holidays. It's sad but true that some poor unfortunate folk are forced to go on holiday with their family and/or friends, and it seems only fair and just to change the structure of the league to compensate for their suffering. The plan therefore is to disregard up to 3 games per player per season. This would mean that a player attending all 25 games would lose their 3 worst scores and someone unlucky enough to be away for 2 Tuesday's in season would lose 1 score, you can extrapolate the rest. It probably won't make much difference as most players will probably miss the final table at least 3 times a season, and most leagues are won by a margin of more than 30. However, if someone is forced to spend time with their family then they should at least be free from the additional pain of potentially missing poker points.
Back online and it looks Daz is just out of the running 150 points behind the lead, but Michael Stoner is set to challenge Phil for the Championship and needs to gain 88 points.
Next week's 2 games, (October 2 and 4), will not count towards league points - sub still payable please.
League vs. league playoff
There will be a playoff between the Black Bull and White Horse leagues in a week or two, involving the top 3 or 4 players from each league and regular TDs.
