Update Monday November 5

But, ahead of everyone is Colin with an impressive average of 75.75 thanks to finishing 3rd, 3 games in a row, and then 7th last week. If he keeps making the final table, he could prove hard to catch.

Meanwhile, over at the Black Bull the lead is shared between your very own Matty B and Longstanton regular Adam Cooke both on 333 points with an average of 85.25

It's early days though and there's still plenty of time for last year's winners to make a showing.

Several people have asked me about the play-offs, and the latest news is that I'm currently checking the diary and should have a provisional date for you next week.

No major faux pas to report at the moment, but there are a couple of areas I'd like to remind people of. The first is the old chestnut of reacting to the community cards when your not in a hand - it's not serious, but it can be distracting. Please try to allow players still in a hand to concentrate, particularly when the blinds are up.

The second is relatively trivial - if you don't have the right chips to place the correct bet, please get change from another player, and not the pot if you can help it, and try to avoid placing a greater value chip and taking change at the end. It's not a big deal - just a bad habit that it would be good to get out of.

If you haven't read the rules and/or etiquette for a while, please take time to refresh your memory by visiting the CPP website.
