Stakes, points & prizes
The Cambridge Pub Poker tournaments are designed around the Gambling Act 2005
£5.00 stake
The most money anyone can stake at a Cambridge Pub Poker tournament is £5.00. Each tournament takes the form of a knockout competition with players starting with chips worth 10,000 points. Play continues until only one player has any chips remaining.
3 cash prizes
All of the stake money is awarded in prizes. The first prize is usually roughly double the runner-up prize, and the player finishing in third place wins their £5 stake back.
For example, 19 players would mean a prize pot of £95. First prize would be £60, second £30 and third £5. 14 players would mean a prize pot of £70. First prize would be £45, second £20 and third £5.
Leader-board points
Points are awarded according to a tiered scoring system, and the player with the most points at the end of the 6 month league season is declared the Champion.
Membership subs
Members of Cambridge Pub Poker can choose to contribute £1 when they play to help cover costs of the felt table tops, chips, playing cards, the hosting of the website and other costs incurred by the club.
Please note
There is no entry fee to play. The membership subscription is an entirely optional and voluntary contribution towards running costs, and is not a condition of entry to any Cambridge Pub Poker tournament, and has no bearing on anyone's entitlement to participate.
